The Nexus Esplanade Mall, located in Bhubaneswar, is a landmark mixed-use development featuring a five-storey shopping mall and office complex. Appointed as the façade consultants, BES provided end-to-end façade design and engineering services—from concept design to completion, including advanced 3D geometry modeling for the project’s iconic wrap structure.
The architectural vision required a freeform façade with fluid and dynamic geometry, symbolizing motion and modernity. To achieve this, BES carried out detailed engineering, Good for Construction (GFC) drawings, and steel structure design for the roof and cladding systems. The highlight of the project is the zinc cladding, meticulously crafted in fish-scale patterns to realize the building’s complex, curvilinear form with precision and elegance.
Beyond design, the BES façade engineering team actively participated in quality control, fabrication review, and on-site supervision, ensuring that every element matched the intended architectural vision. This collaborative and technically driven approach helped deliver a high-quality façade system that blends engineering excellence with architectural artistry.
The Nexus Esplanade Mall façade now stands as one of Bhubaneswar’s most iconic retail landmarks, showcasing BES’s expertise in complex façade geometries, custom cladding systems, and innovative façade engineering for large-scale commercial developments.
