Business Hotel Development | Façade Engineering & Acoustic Consultancy

The Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Colombo is an 18-storey business hotel located in the heart of Colombo city, designed to deliver a high-quality hospitality experience with a strong focus on performance, comfort, and architectural expression. BES Consultants was appointed by the developer to provide end-to-end building envelope engineering and acoustic consultancy services, covering concept design through to site completion.

The guest room façades feature bespoke large-format window systems, carefully engineered by BES to optimise daylight, thermal performance, and acoustic insulation. The external envelope incorporates high-performance textured wall finishes combined with architectural aluminium fin elements, enhancing both the visual identity and environmental performance of the building. The ground-level lobby façade is designed with customised high-transparency glazing systems, creating an open and inviting entrance space while maintaining structural and performance requirements.

In addition, BES provided engineering consultancy for building maintenance systems, including terrace-mounted steel support structures for façade access and cleaning systems, with detailed construction documentation prepared to ensure safe and efficient long-term maintenance.

The acoustic consultancy scope included detailed design and implementation strategies for service floors, internal partition systems, and meeting rooms, ensuring optimal sound insulation, noise control, and occupant comfortthroughout the hotel. This integrated approach to façade and acoustics delivers a high-performance hospitality building envelope, aligned with international standards and best practices in hotel design.
